Rain at the Temple

Same temple, very different mood. Mist instead of blue sky, rain on the stone, umbrellas everywhere. In black and white it suddenly felt like flipping through an old photo album.

Under One Umbrella

Two people walking out of the gate, sharing one umbrella. The wet floor has turned into a mirror, so everything has a double: the people, the pillars, the light.

This is why I love street photography. The frame was already there, and then they walked right into it.

Lost in the Mist

The same pagoda from the colour story, but now the mist is swallowing the top of it. A temple roof cuts in from the left, and the people below are just small dark shapes.

Without colour, it’s all grey, getting lighter and lighter as it goes up.

The Big Buddha

The giant Buddha sits calmly above the courtyard, coming out of the dark trees. Down below, people with umbrellas cross the wet stone.

I like how small they are next to him. Everyone is busy walking, and he’s just sitting there, peaceful, one hand raised.
